Where It Began
Taper started during Ironman 70.3 preparation. The taper phase marks the shift before race day — volume drops, intensity stays. The body moves from fatigue to readiness. Tapering is deliberate. Remove what does not help. Keep what does.
That mindset exposed a problem in the gear itself. Years of endurance training made it impossible to ignore: the gap between apparel that looks good and apparel that holds up through long sessions. Seams begin to irritate at kilometre 15. Fabric traps sweat in the heat. Socks slide as pace builds. Those details don’t just affect comfort — they decide race day.
Built by Athletes, for Athletes
After the race, the founders met. One brought years of endurance sport across running, cycling, and triathlon. The other brought deep experience in performance clothing manufacturing. Together, they had a clear goal: build gear with a race-day standard — not a gym-class standard.
Every piece Taper makes is designed around real training demands. The stitching. The fabrics. The fit. Nothing is added for aesthetics alone. If it doesn’t serve the athlete moving at pace, under pressure, for hours — it doesn’t belong.
The Standard We Hold
Taper is built for runners, cyclists, triathletes, and hybrid athletes who train consistently and compete seriously. We operate through limited drops — each one a focused collection built around a specific training phase or race environment. No restocks. No filler. Just gear that earns its place in your kit.
We are based in the UAE, designing for athletes who train in heat, humidity, and across some of the most demanding race environments in the world.
Endure Today. Conquer Tomorrow.
That’s not just a tagline — it’s the framework behind every decision we make. The taper phase only works if you’ve put in the training. This brand exists for the people who do the work.
